Interpreter/Translator -
Czech to English, English to Czech
George Mojzisek, Baltimore, MD was born
in the Czech Republic and immigrated to the States with his parents just
prior to WW II. He spoke nothing but Czech with his parents until he
matriculated into the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
George attended evening Czech School during his secondary school days
where he learned to read, write and speak correct grammatical Czech. He
is currently a Czech instructor at the Czech Saturday Morning School in
Baltimore, Maryland which meets weekly.
George has translated numerous Czech legal documents from Czech to
English for his friends. Recently, George spent entire summers in the
Czech Republic speaking only Czech with his native Czech nephew who
speaks minimal English. We write weekly e-mail chats in Czech with my
nephew in the Czech Republic and monthly SKYPE conversations.
During the summer of 2006
he spent four weeks studying at the the Institute for Czech Foreign
Students in Dobruska, outside of Prague, speaking and studying only
Czech in a immersion program under the watchful eyes of professional
linguists.
George has done numerous Czech translations for The Johns Hopkins
Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and their medical patients who can not speak English well
enough to understand the doctors. Johns Hopkins is well pleased with his
performance.
